Q: Where are the Profits in Corporate Blogging ?

Well, it`s official. The Blogosphere is not going to crash like many pundits suggest and there will not be Bubble 2.0, because people have a legitimate reason to express in public their thoughts and opinions, just like in the offline world, and Web 2.0 technologies are the best available at this time for this purpose.

Q: Will Citizen Journalism be more profitable than Corporate Blogging ?:

1. If we take WeblogsInc as a Metric for one of the Best Business Model of Social Media. Then it seems that Citizen Journalism has greater potential than Corporate Blogging.

2. If we see Corporate Blogging as more than PR and we focus in its Branding potential on individual mini-brands, something unexpected is going to happen very soon. The best example of this thought is the Vision of Open Source Marketing written by Collaborate Marketing Consultants.

The essence of this manifesto is pretty clear:
LEAVE CUSTOMERS THE POWER TO INTERACT WITH YOUR BRAND

Best Example: My Space is an example of this approach, companies like Sprite, Microsoft Xbox 360 among others, let users build communities around their brands, with core goal: "Strengthen the Brand"

In plain english: If you can focus your company in one Powerful Idea and figure it out the best way to put it in the minds of our customers with Web 2.0 technologies, then I see a poweful disruptive business model beyond My Space.

"It´s possible that businesses want to design Individual Portals with the power to inform, to collaborate and to entertain: Imagine thousands of independent mini My Spaces" But here, the subtle point is how to generate traffic for the Portal Blog:

Porposal: Advertise offline, build loyalty online.

The Dilemma: Are Corporate Blogging and Branding possible?, Recalling that Social Media is all about individuals and Branding is all about attaching the same individuals in a consistant group experience, a string connection is needed.
